What is Structure of SAP SD?

The all most every firm Sales is structured in such way. This structure needs to be represented in SAP SD based on pre-defined organizational elements and combine them in a pre-defined way of elements,

The Master Data forms the main basis of SAP SD (Sales and distribution) process,  The master data is the responsibility of all the SAP R/3 modules, ass the each module has a element of it.

SAP SD master data will be assessed by the many other modules other than sales SD, such as FI, PP and CO. The main structure of the master data main and represents how the SAP system is to perform in the future. It is highest level of data and thus is has the largest effect on the standard business process. Master data in SAP SD divided into three main focus areas.

SAP SD (Sales and distribution)

Organisational Data

This is the main structure of the every company, whereby each area of the business is represented by a hierarchical element. For example a sales area is constructed of a sales organisation, a distribution channel, and a division. The finance module uses the highest form of master data, which is the ‘company code” The SAP SD module integrates with this company code via the sales organisation. Thus, due to the link between the sales organisation and the company code in Finance.

Document Master Data

The ll the business transaction are stored in the form of documents. These SAP SD documents are structured in such way that all the necessary information is stored in very systematic way.

Material Master Data

The goods and the services are sold by the company, for that which the organisational data has been maintained. we need to represent this material and services data in the system as well as maintain and represent all our different sold to parities and partners.

Global Settings

This is one of the most fundamental principles to grasp when dealing with the Sales module of SAP is to understand where information is coming from and what  time the transaction it is accessed. see SAP looks from the highest level of data to the lowest. Thus when creating a sales order  it will look at the organisational master data first, followed by the customer master data, followed by material data when entered and all the while it checks various document master data
